Psychology of Adolescent Development
Description:
This course represents an overview of current research and theory on adolescent development, with special focus on the family, school, peer group and community contexts within which adolescents live and grow. Students gain an understanding of the biological and social processes that influence development, the challenges and risks facing adolescents today, and the factors that promote positive development. Current issues related to adolescence and the implications of policy and practice on adolescent development are discussed throughout the course.
