Description:
Students will develop an understanding of the language and cognitive precursors to reading acquisition. they will demonstrate a knowledge of word recognition and the reading acquisition process and the role of experiential background, prior knowledge, motivation, and personal significance to developing readers. Meets the Maryland State Department of Education Reading requirement in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Speical Education, Generic Infant/Primary, and Special Education.
