Basic Photography
Description:
Basic Photography introduces students to the fundamental aesthetics and
techniques of digital photography, to the practice of creative
thinking, and to communication through visual imagery. Students
considering this class should have a late model digital camera and
reliable access to high speed Internet. They should be prepared to
allocate an average of 4–6 hours a week for 14 weeks to successfully
complete the course. Course work will include reading, planning,
shooting assignments, reflecting on and writing about one’s work.
Emphasis will be on aesthetics and the technical know-how to make it
happen. Assignments will be varied to offer experiences with a range of
creative styles and visual thinking challenges.
