Welcome to MarylandOnline's Jobs Board. MarylandOnline is a consortium of 19 accredited colleges and universities in Maryland that offer online courses, programs, and certificates. These schools have a significant need for adjunct instructors in many categories. If you have an interest in teaching at the college/university level, meet the following minimum requirements and are reasonably technologically savvy, we encourage you to list your resume with us.

Our members will review your resume in a secure environment and if they are interested in talking to you in detail about your skills and experience, they will contact you directly concerning openings at their individual institutions. The current list of available positions is below. If you don't find what you are looking for now, please return to the site later since the list will change often.

Your resume will be kept on this site until you request that it be removed. You may make this request by contacting Wendy Gilbert at wgilbertMOL@comcast.net.

Best wishes in your career search!

Online job listings are being revamped and will be back soon.

Minimum Qualifications:

You must hold a masters degree in the field in which you are interested in teaching. This degree must include a minimum of 18 and in some fields as many as 24 hours in the major. It will be useful if you have had direct work experience in your field and/or teaching experience.

Additionally, you should have significant technical skills including the ability to use MS Word, MS Excel, the Internet, and e-mail, at least. Specific job announcements may specify other computer and technical skills. You should have a reliable ISP and good bandwidth to support your activity. There is a technical readiness assessment instrument located in the “Student Toolbox” that you may want to take. The school that employs you will provide you with training in the course management software that they use (WebCT, Blackboard, Centra, etc.)

Payroll Information:

Our schools have various pay scales and personnel applications processes. However, all employers require that new employees complete the federally required W-4 and I-9 forms. If you do not live within traveling distance of the college or university that will employ you, we request that you follow the steps below for documenting the authenticity of your identification records.

  1. Go to www.irs.gov to print the W-4 form and www.uscis.gov the I-9 form. This will require Adobe Acrobat. If you cannot access these forms electronically, please go to your nearest library for copies.
  2. Complete these forms. Collect and copy your ORIGINAL forms of documentation for the I-9 (social security card, driver's license, passport, etc.).
  3. Prepare a statement indicating that these are authentic documents attesting to your identity.
  4. Take original documents, copies, and your statement to a Notary Public who should examine these forms and notarize your statement attesting to their authenticity.
  5. Mail notarized statement with the copies to the college or university hiring you.
