Program Description:
Dietetic Technicians are part of a team of dedicated professionals who oversee the provision of nutrition-sustaining food. They perform the initial screen that identifies the nutritional status of patients. Under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian, these professional provide direct care to nutritionally stressed patients. Dietetic Technicians are also specialists in food service management; their work can include menu planning, procurement of food and supplies, and employee supervision. Hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, assisted living facilities, agriculture and welfare agencies, and many private industries seek qualified and caring dietetic technicians.
